The Lady Garden is the campaign of The Gynaecological Cancer Fund, launched in 2013 by a powerful group of women, all of whom have a personal connection with these cancers. These include Mika Simmons, Jenny Halpern Prince, Tamara Beckwith Veroni, Astrid Harbord and Chloe Delevingne. The charity’s mission is to raise funds in support of Dr. Susana Banerjee, a leading oncologist at The Royal Marsden, whose ground-breaking research into precision therapies hopes to change the future of gynaecological cancer treatment. The campaign aims to raise awareness among young women about gynaecological cancer and its symptoms. These cancers - referred to as ‘silent killers’ because they are often diagnosed too late - can be reduced radically in the generations to come if young women look out for the symptoms and are brave enough to talk about their bodies more.
The Lady Garden Campaign was launched in 2015 on social media, reaching more than 40 million people within 24 hours. As soon as the campaign launched, it saw huge celebrity endorsements online, from the likes of Ellie Goulding, Margot Robbie, Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
In April 2016, the campaign held its first Lady Garden 5k, taking place in Battersea Park and it has taken place each year since. The logo on the goodie bags was designed by Simeon Farrar and has been featured on Hoodies, and other merchandise which is available to buy online.

The celebrity endorsement comes from the friends and family of the committee really, and that one of the founders, Jenny Halpern Prince runs a PR company called Halpern, which works with a lot of influencers.
Just like the Breast Cancer awareness campaign, it is the hope of the founders that Lady Garden will encourage a dialogue between women about their Lady Gardens. Their mission is to empower women everywhere to talk more openly – without shyness or shame.
