In 2018 we are supporting Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice by taking part in the Master Cutler Challenge.
Bluebell Wood care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions; and their families.
They currently support around 250 families, both in their own homes and at their hospice in North Anston, Sheffield.
The hospice, which is surrounded by six-and-a-half acres of land, opened its doors in 2008. There are eight beautifully decorated bedrooms and accommodation for family members and at the heart of the building is a relaxing lounge and dining area; there is also a sensory room, messy play area, a cinema room and much more.
Bluebell woods motto is ‘living with love and laughter’, their mission every day is to create special memories for children, young adults and families, which they can treasure for whatever time they have together. They give families the chance to relax, take a break and just have fun.
It costs over £4 million a year to keep our doors open, and we receive just 10% of our funding from statutory government sources.
This years Master Cutler is Ken Cooke, the role of the master or mistress Cutler is to act as an ambassador of industry in Sheffield, and to promote the Sheffield region on an international scale.
Businesses in Sheffield take part in the Master Cutler Challenge each year and are given a £50 seed fund. The challenge is to raise as much money with this seed fund for the charity the Master Cutler chooses.
BIDBI have taken on the challenge and plan to print a limited run of bags featuring superhero illustrations by the patrons of Bluebell Wood. The bags can then be sold in gift shops, to which all the proceeds go directly to the charity.
